“just nonsense” by Rozan C.
A two week assignment for my Perspective Drawing class at the Art Institute of Houston. My instructor asked me what i like to draw the most & i told him “just nonsense”. He then told me that the class assignment was to take what you like to draw & put it into perspective. This is what i did.
This was taken two days after it was done, and is my first tattoo that I got exactly three weeks after returning from my trip to Africa. The heart is over Uganda (where Invisible Children has its roots, and thus me as well) but represents my love for the entire continent. I wanted something to remind me of where I’ve been and the future I will be pursuing as an activist, volunteer, and dedicated community member. It’s true that when I left Kilimanjaro airport on August twelfth, a large chunk of my heart stayed behind waiting for my return. Nimefurahi kukutana na wewe. Ninakupenda, Africa.
